Installing Add-Ons

The installation of Add-Ons such as modules or templates is done in three steps.

  1. Download the module or template from the official Add-Ons Repository (archive file; ZIP)
  2. Install the module or template via the WB backend
  3. Test the module or template

The installation routine for modules or templates can be accessed by clicking on the symbol or the text link Add-Ons in the WB backend.

Add-Ons
Manage Modules, Templates, Languages

The installation of modules or templates is very similiar to the installation of language files. The list below provides all of the important information to sucessfully install modules or templates.

Note:

  • Install only files downloaded from the official Website Baker Add-Ons Repository
  • Check before you install a file if the module supports your Website Baker version (check info.php file)
(Code snippets are supported from WB v2.6 onwards)
  • Do not manually unzip the Add-Ons package! This is done by the WB installation routine.
  • Install modules and templates only via the WB installation routines, not via FTP

Using Add-Ons

The usage of installed modules depends on the modules type. The table below explains the required steps to use modules which were installed via the WB installation routine.

Module Type: Usage:
Page Type

To use page type modules, you need to add a new page via the WB backend. As page Type the installed module type needs to be choosen.
Example: Image Gallery, Guestbook, Download Gallery

Admin Tools
(tools)

Administration tools can be found in the admininstration panel of the WB backend:
Settings -> Show advanced Options -> Administration Tools
Example: Page Cloner, User Stats

Snippets
(additional functions)
Code snippets were introduced with WB v2.6. Code snippets are used to add own functions to WB which can be invoked either from the index.php file of the template,  or via a page/section of type Code.
Example: Show menu 2, Any news

Two options are available to make use of installed templates. To define the new template as a default template for all existing and new pages, one need to change the following setting in the WB backend:

Settings -> Default Settings -> Template

.

To apply the new template only for single pages, one need to change the page settings of the pages via the WB backend: Pages -> Settings Symbol Seiteneinstellungen-> Template
